The firm’s original account described its experience adapting to electronic filing and case management in Harnett County. Jason Wunsch and Freddie Cruz used the system to handle filings and follow case information as the courts moved away from paper-based workflows.

What electronic access changes

Electronic systems provide ways to submit documents and access case information without making a courthouse trip for every administrative task. For clients, the important question remains what has been filed, what requires a response and when the next court event will take place.

Online access does not mean that a hearing is cancelled or that every legal task can be completed remotely. Follow the notices and instructions for your case and ask your attorney about anything unclear.

An update to the original rollout discussion

The original article described future rollout phases in 2024. That timetable is historical. The North Carolina Judicial Branch now reports that eCourts was implemented in all 100 counties as of October 13, 2025.
